Terms of Service

By creating an account, logging in, or playing Ruststead as a guest, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in their entirety, including our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference and explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information related to your use of the service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ruststead Dev. If you are accessing the game on behalf of a minor under your guardianship, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and accept responsibility for their use of the game.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use Ruststead subject to the consent and supervision requirements applicable in their jurisdiction. We recommend that minors review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

If we become aware that a user is under the age of 13, we will immediately terminate their account and delete or anonymize associated personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You may not use Ruststead if you have previously been permanently banned and are prohibited from accessing the service.

To access the full features of Ruststead, you may register for a free account using a username, email address, and password. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

• Account integrity: You may not create or use multiple accounts for abusive purposes, including ban evasion, exploitation, automation, or manipulation of gameplay systems.
• Account security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Unauthorized access: You must notify us immediately at support@ruststeadrpg.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.
• Username rules: Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate other players or real persons, or violate any applicable law. We reserve the right to change usernames that violate these rules.

We reserve the right to refuse registration, terminate accounts, or reclaim usernames at our sole discretion, particularly where accounts are found to violate these Terms.

Ruststead allows you to play without registration as a "guest." Guest accounts are assigned a temporary username and have access to core gameplay features. Guest accounts are subject to the same Terms, conduct rules, and moderation policies as registered accounts.

You agree to use Ruststead only for its intended purpose in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and these Terms. You agree to:

• Treat other players with respect in all in-game communication channels;
• Play the game as intended, without exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended mechanics;
• Not use any automated tools, bots, scripts, or macros to interact with the game;
• Report bugs and exploits you discover to support@ruststeadrpg.com rather than exploiting them;
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.

The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban:

• Cheating & Exploitation: Using third-party software, scripts, or tools to gain an unfair advantage; exploiting bugs or glitches to duplicate items, currency, or progress; manipulating game data through unauthorized API requests.
• Harassment & Abuse: Harassing, bullying, threatening, or intimidating other players; sending unsolicited offensive messages; targeting players on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Impersonation: Impersonating Ruststead Dev staff, moderators, or other players.
• Spam: Sending repetitive, unsolicited, or disruptive messages in public or private channels.
• Real-Money Trading: Buying, selling, or trading in-game accounts, items, or currency for real-world money or goods outside of any official channels we may establish.
• Ban Evasion: Creating a new account after being banned in order to continue using the service in violation of a sanction.
• Harmful Content: Sharing, posting, or linking to illegal content, malware, phishing pages, or content that sexually exploits minors.
• Interference: Attempting to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the game servers or network infrastructure, including denial-of-service attacks.
• Unauthorized Access: Attempting to access, reverse-engineer, or tamper with server-side code, databases, or other back-end systems without authorization.

Ruststead features an in-game premium currency called Subsidies, along with various virtual items, equipment, and gameplay content.

The following terms apply to all real-money purchases in Ruststead:

• Payment processing: All payment transactions are processed by the applicable platform payment processor (Stripe for web, Google Play for Android). Ruststead Dev does not receive, store, or have access to your raw payment card data. Payment processors handle card data in compliance with PCI-DSS standards and their own privacy policies.
• Purchase confirmation: After a successful payment, our servers are notified and the corresponding Subsidy package is credited to your account. Ruststead Dev retains a record of the transaction (username, package, amount, and a transaction reference identifier) for account management and fraud prevention purposes.
• All sales final: Except where required by applicable law or the applicable platform's refund policy (including Google Play's refund policies), all purchases of in-game currency are final and non-refundable. In-game Subsidies have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money.
• Platform policy: Where Ruststead is accessed through a third-party platform (such as Google Play), that platform's purchase, refund, and billing policies govern transactions made through it and may supersede provisions of these Terms.
• Pricing: Prices are displayed at checkout in the applicable currency. Ruststead Dev reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect purchases already completed.
• Termination: If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, no refund will be provided for Subsidies purchased prior to termination.
• Chargebacks: Initiating a fraudulent chargeback on a completed Subsidies purchase may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation.

Ruststead Dev reserves the right to reset, remove, or modify in-game currency, items, or progress balances where they were obtained through exploitation, cheating, or unauthorized means, regardless of any real-money purchases made.

All content within Ruststead — including game code, artwork, graphics, animations, user interface design, music, sound effects, text, game mechanics, and the Ruststead name and logo — is the exclusive intellectual property of Ruststead Dev and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play Ruststead for your personal, non-commercial use only. This license does not grant you any right to:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display game content;
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the game;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the game;
• Use game content for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Ruststead Dev.

Any rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Ruststead Dev.

Ruststead includes features that allow players to generate content, including public chat messages, private messages, character names, and trade communications ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any original content you create, but by submitting User Content through the game, you grant Ruststead Dev a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, and moderate that content as necessary to operate the service.

You are solely responsible for the content you post or send within the game. You agree not to submit User Content that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, hateful, or harassing;
• Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights;
• Contains personal information about others without their consent;
• Is spam, advertising, or solicitation;
• Violates any applicable law or these Terms.

Ruststead Dev does not endorse any User Content and reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice. Ruststead Dev does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, or quality of any User Content submitted by players.

Ruststead Dev is not responsible for interactions, agreements, trades, or disputes between players. Any in-game arrangements made between players are at their own risk.

Ruststead Dev may integrate with or rely upon third-party services, platforms, or providers, including but not limited to cloud hosting providers, payment processors, push notification services, and email delivery services. Ruststead Dev is not responsible for the availability, reliability, practices, or content of any third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms of service and privacy policies provided by those third parties. We encourage you to review the terms and policies of any third-party services you interact with.

Links or references to third-party websites or services within the game do not constitute an endorsement by Ruststead Dev.

Ruststead Dev reserves the right to investigate and take action against any conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the community. Actions we may take include:

• Issuing warnings;
• Removing User Content;
• Temporarily restricting chat or other features;
• Temporarily or permanently suspending or terminating your account;
• Resetting or removing in-game items, currency, or progress obtained through prohibited means;
• Reporting conduct to law enforcement where required by law.

A permanent ban results in the indefinite termination of your account and removal of all associated data and progress. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ruststead Dev reserves the right to restrict access through associated accounts, devices, or network identifiers (including IP addresses) in cases involving ban evasion, coordinated abuse, or repeat violations.

If you believe a moderation action was made in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@ruststeadrpg.com. We will review appeals in good faith, but all final decisions rest with Ruststead Dev.

Ruststead Dev reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the game at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, harms the community, creates legal liability, or otherwise interferes with the operation of the service.

You may also terminate your account at any time by visiting ruststeadrpg.com/delete-account.html and following the account deletion process.

Upon termination of your account for any reason, your license to access and use Ruststead immediately ends. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-related provisions.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content within Ruststead infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@ruststeadrpg.com with the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
• A description of where the allegedly infringing content appears within the game;
• Your contact information (name, email address);
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.

We will investigate valid complaints and take appropriate action, which may include removing the reported content.

Ruststead is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ruststead Dev disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement;
• Warranties that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components;
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of any game content;
• Warranties that any defects will be corrected.

Your use of Ruststead is at your sole risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ruststead Dev and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Ruststead, including but not limited to:

• Loss of in-game progress, items, or currency;
• Loss of data resulting from server outages, bugs, or account termination;
• Any harm resulting from unauthorized access to your account;
• Any conduct or content of other users.

In no event shall Ruststead Dev's total liability to you for all claims arising out of these Terms or your use of the game exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Ruststead Dev in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability for certain types of damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Ruststead Dev does not guarantee that the game will be available at all times. The game may be subject to downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues. We will endeavor to provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance where possible.

Ruststead Dev reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the game (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. Ruststead Dev may discontinue the game permanently at any time without obligation to continue support, updates, or server operation. No compensation will be provided for virtual items, currency, or progress lost as a result of service discontinuation.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice within the game. Material changes will take effect no sooner than 7 days after the notice is posted, except for changes required by law which may take effect immediately.

Your continued use of Ruststead after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the game. You may request account deletion per the process described in our Privacy Policy, Section 8.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Ruststead shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at support@ruststeadrpg.com. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your jurisdiction, including rights available to EU and UK consumers under their respective consumer protection frameworks.
